The guide

Soft, colourful and genuinely good for sound

Acoustic felt is made from recycled PET — largely plastic bottles — pressed into dense sheets usually 9 to 24 mm thick. It absorbs sound reflections very well, so a felt wall makes a room noticeably quieter and calmer, especially rooms with hard floors and big windows.

Felt comes in dozens of colours and can be cut into almost any shape: hexagons, squares, triangles, waves, or your logo. Two or three colours together make a graphic cluster; a single colour across a whole wall looks calm and architectural.

Because it’s soft and pinnable, a felt wall doubles as a notice board in home offices, kids’ rooms, classrooms and studios.

How we fit it

The details that make it look built in

  • We lay the design out on the wall first so clusters and patterns sit exactly where you want them.
  • Felt is fixed with a suitable adhesive for the wall type, with mechanical fixings where needed.
  • Shapes are cut cleanly around sockets, switches and corners.
  • For offices we advise on how much felt the room needs for a real improvement in speech clarity.
  • We can match brand colours and cut logos for receptions and meeting rooms.

FAQ

Felt walls & hexagons — your questions

Can’t see your question? Ask us — we reply quickly.

Do felt panels really help with echo?

Yes. Dense PET felt absorbs mid and high-frequency reflections — the ones that make voices sound harsh and rooms sound hollow. The more of the wall you cover, the bigger the effect.

Will felt panels block noise from my neighbours?

No. Felt reduces echo inside the room but doesn’t stop sound passing through walls. Blocking noise needs soundproofing, which involves adding mass and decoupling the wall.

Are felt panels fire rated?

Acoustic felt products are tested to different fire classifications. We specify products that suit where they’re going — homes, offices, schools or hospitality — and can share the technical data sheets.

Can I pin things to a felt wall?

Yes, most PET felt is pin-board friendly — handy in home offices and kids’ rooms.

Can you cut our logo in felt?

Yes. Logos and custom shapes are CNC-cut and can be layered in two colours for depth.

How do I clean felt?

Vacuum with a soft brush attachment and spot-clean marks with a damp cloth.
